Meet The Team
She is a nonprofit professional with more than 18 years’ experience in the areas of diversity and inclusion, leadership development, professional development, training, volunteer leadership coordination, and business planning. Ericka has utilized her skills to create programming in the fields of education, healthcare, philanthropy and community development. Ericka is also a Certified Association Executive (CAE), a DELP scholar, and holds a MS and MBA from University of Maryland University College and a BA from Howard University. Ericka is a mother of two daughters, Allese and Indigo and a son, Tyee. She resides in Summerville, SC and enjoys a good book or movie and time by bodies of water.
Director of Finance & Administration
Julie received a BS in biology from Penn State University and a MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. She held management roles in financial operations and administration for the nonprofit sector for many years until moving to the nonprofit world in 2009 when she joined Person-to-Person in Darlen, CT, an emergency assistance organization, where she was chief operating offer. Julie grew up in Philadelphia, but has lived in multiple places since then, including 10 years in Australia. Upon returning to the States, she and her family settled in Darlen, CT, where she raised three children, Tim, Jen and Katie. Three years ago, Julie and her husband, Herb, relocated to join family in SC. In her spare time she loves cooking, playing tennis, walking and reading at the beach.
Director of Programs
Ryan is originally from Chicago, Illinois and relocated to Charleston in the fall of 2014. In 2007, he graduated from Lewis University with a BA in psychology. He worked as both a mental health counselor and an emergency room social worker before deciding to pursue a MBA in hopes of securing a management position with a nonprofit / social services organization. In 2015 he graduated with a MBA, and shortly after, he was hired at OLMCOS.
Volunteer Services Manager
Jennifer joined the OLMCOS staff in 2012. She started as the special projects manager, coordinating special events. Her others responsibilities include HR recruitment and IT management. Jennifer is from Greenville, SC. She holds a bachelor's degree from the College of Charleston and a master's degree from Valadosta State university. She has prior experience working for nonprofits, as well as local and federal government agencies.
Director of Development
Kristin grew up in Durham, North Carolina and relocated to Charleston in 2013. She has been working in the nonprofit sector for over 10 years with various roles in volunteer management, program development, organizational management, and fundraising. Most recently, her focus has been on corporate/nonprofit philanthropic partnerships. Kristin has her master's in public administration with a focus in nonprofit management. She lives on Johns Island with her two kids, Zoey and Sullivan; her husband, Bryan; and their dog, Finley. In her downtime, she enjoys traveling and spending quality time with family.
Jeannie Colson was born and raised in Charleston, SC. She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BA in English in 2010. As the marketing manager for OLMCOs, she is responsible for creating and implementing marketing targeted marketing strategies to increase awareness and spread the mission of the OLMOCS. Telling the OLMOCS story through print and digital channels. When not working, you can find Jeannie hiking the nearest trails with her fiance’ Neal and their Boykin Spaniel Eleanor, on the water immersed in the latest bestseller, crafting DIY furniture and home décor projects, searching for new recipes to try or at a Gamecock football game with family and friends – GO COCKS!
Emory was born and raised in Charleston. She graduated from the College of Charleston with a BS in Business Administration. Prior to joining OLMCOS, she worked in administration for a finance company. As the development coordinator, she will be managing the database, researching and tracking grants and processing gifts. In her free time, she enjoys oil painting, travel and adventure.
Kalen Milford, Sr.
Social Services Manager
Kalen is Charleston native, born and raised on the Peninsula of Charleston. Kalen has a bachelor's degree from Charleston Southern University in social sciences, where he was also a 3-year letter winner in football. He then pursued a career as a package deliverer at UPS before he gave in to his love of working within and serving his community. He later obtained a master’s degree in management and organizational leadership from Springfield College, which gave him the confidence and skills needed to begin doing the social service work that he loves to do for the Charleston community. Kalen is a husband to Shavawn Milford and a father to Kalen Jr. and Kristian Milford. His long-term goals are to support and lead a family that will positively contribute to the community in where they reside, which aligns with his mission to aid the City of Charleston in any way that he can, including advocating for Charleston residents in the political realm.
Social Services Coordinator
Tracy is a Charleston native, but spent the majority of her youth traveling with her military family. She holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from SC State University and has 20+ years’ experience in Case Management and Social Services. Her career has afforded her various opportunities. Tracy currently resides on Wadmalaw Island and enjoys reading, poetry, spending time with family and supporting her community.
Kelly is originally from Raliegh, NC, and relocated to attend the College of Charleston where she graduated with a BA in Spanish and secondary education. She has lived and traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia and Latin America. Kelly is a bilingual educator with 15+ year's experience teaching Spanish and ESL in the local public and private sectors. In addition, she has 10+ year's experience in managing and designing programs to fit the needs of her students as the owner of a language school. She is passionate about customizing educational programs to best serve the community. Kelly resides in James Island with her husband and two children, Dante and Elena. In her free time, she likes to travel, practice yoga and find outdoor adventures.
Grace grew up near Milwaukee, WI, and recently relocated to Charleston from the D.C. area. She graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a BS in elementary education and holds a South Carolina Educator Certificate. Grace is most passionate about helping others develop early literacy, math fluency and language skills. She is excited to help facilitate youth and adult learning programs at OLMCOS. In her spare time she loves to cook, read and spend time at the beach with her fiancé Charles, and dog, Honey.
Wellness Center Manager
Stacy recently relocated to Charleston from her home town of Charlotte, North Carolina and is excited to get to know and serve her new community. After receiving her Bachelors in Recreational Therapy from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, Stacy began her career working in the Long Term Care industry. She received her Masters in Healthcare Administration from Seton Hall University and has spent the past 9 years serving senior citizens in her community as a Certified Care Manager and through a variety of Healthcare Management roles. Stacy enjoys a day at the beach or on a hike, quality time with her family, cooking new recipes and exploring all that her new home has to offer.
Wellness Center Office Assistant
She was born in Wisconsin, has lived throughout the US and at the age of 18 had the opportunity to live in the countryside of Mexico. After just one year, she returned to the US with a love for the culture and a fluency for the Spanish language. Her career includes customer service and office management and as our office assistant for the Wellness Center, Lydia handles all of the front desk and scheduling needs. Lydia is a strong-willed survivor who brings a unique understanding to what some of our patients experience each day. On her days off, Lydia can be found spoiling her four children and husband, spending time in her garden with her unique pets and helping her neighbors in need. Lydia joined OLMCOS with the passion to make a difference in the lives of her community.
Wellness Center Patient Liaison
Mariela grew up in Dumont, New Jersey, and relocated to Summerville in March 2021 to be near her daughter who moved to the Charleston area several years ago. She retired from the US Navy after 22 years of active and reserve time in 2018. She is now going back to school full-time in human services and community justice with a graduation date of December 2021. When not a work, you can find her driving and exploring new places with my family, cooking, riding her bicycle and spending time at the beach.
Katie was born and raised in Andover, Kansas. She moved to South Carolina in 2011 to enjoy the weather. She is a certified dental assistant and has been in the dental community in Charleston for six years. She lives in Summerville with her eight-year-old son, Grayson. In her free time she loves to Kayak, go on road trips and do obstacle course races.
Shelli was raised in Marietta, Georgia and relocated to Charleston in 2008 to attend The College of Charleston. She earned a BS in health promotion with a minor in psychology. Shelli is a nonprofit professional with more than 7 years' experience in the areas of organizational operation and administration, policy and procedural development, event curation and client services. She also volunteers as a key spouse at Charleston Air Force Base. Shelli is married to her wonderful husband Austin, and together they have a little boy named Liam. In her free time you will find her piddling in the garden, tending to her chickens, reading or “supervising” Austin during their latest home improvement project.
Lunch Program Manager
Oldest of five siblings, Vonceil was born and raised in Charleston. She obtained her bachelor's degree in early childhood education Saint Augustine University in Raliegh, NC. She has been working at the Neighborhood House location since 1991. She considers herself very independent; she never married and has no children. Vonceil loves animals and has a dog named Max.
Gary is a Downtown Charleston native. He is devoted and dedicated to his family as well as the work that he performs at the Neighborhood House location. Gary maintains the facilities to provide clean, safe and comfortable environment for clients as well as staff. He also enjoys art, history and music in his free time.
