Women Making a Difference Support the Comprehensive Family-Centered Literacy Project

The Outreach’s Comprehensive Family-Centered Literacy Project has received a grant in the amount of $5,000 from Women Making a Difference, a Charleston-area “giving circle, a group of savvy women who band together to increase their giving power, and grants are supported by annual membership donations.”

The grant enhances the program by helping to provide childcare, thus allowing parents to attend literacy, adult education, English as a Second Language, and G.E.D. classes while their children are taught educational and social skills.  Parents also receive instruction in ways to promote their children’s acquisition of literacy skills.
