DIRECT OUTREACH SERVICES

Direct Assistance
Direct Assistance for emergency needs are provided to residents Monday – Thursday from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Residents apply for food, clothing and financial support through an interview process conducted by the Outreach Social Worker. Guidelines for these services are explained by the Social Worker during the interview process.

Home Visits
Home Visits are made periodically by the Outreach Staff to assess needs and share information on services. Client referrals and collaboration are conducted with other social services organizations.

Special Events/Seasonal Services
Special Events/Seasonal Services are provided as needed. Outreach to the residents in the Migrant Camps generally occurs during the summer months. Seasonal requests are anticipated by the Outreach Staff, such as fans for summer, winter bedding, Christmas gifts and other emergency needs.

Community Meetings
AA regular meetings are held on Monday at 12:15 and Friday at 11:00 am.

An Al-Anon meeting is held Sunday evenings at 6:00 pm

Interagency meetings for collaboration of organizations serving the Charleston Area meets quarterly on the last Friday of January, May, and September at 12:00 noon.

Migrant Task Force meetings are held the first Wednesday of the months of October, March, April and May at 1:00 pm.
