Ericka L. Plater, MBA, MS, CAE
Ericka is a native of Washington DC and recent transplant to Charleston. She is a nonprofit professional with more than 18 years’ experience in the areas of diversity and inclusion, leadership development, professional development, training, volunteer leadership coordination, and business planning. Ericka has utilized her skills to create programming in the fields of education, healthcare, philanthropy and community development.
Prior to joining Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach, Ericka was the senior vice president of the Services Group at NeighborWorks America. In her role, she oversaw activities including training and specialty programs like Achieving Excellence, Excellence in Governance, Organizational Assessment and the NeighborWorks Center for Homeownership Education.
Prior to this role, Ericka was the senior director of member experience and diversity and inclusion at the Council on Foundations in Arlington, Virginia. She has also served in prior roles as the director of education operations at the Heart Rhythm Society and assistant director of program and resource development at the American Association of School Administrators. She also served on the board of the D5 Coalition focused on diversity, equity and inclusion in philanthropy as well as the Hemophilia Association of the Capital Area and Amethyst & Indigo.
Ericka is also a Certified Association Executive (CAE), a DELP scholar, and holds a M.S. and M.B.A. from University of Maryland University College and a B.A. from Howard University.
Ericka is a mother of two beautiful daughters, Allese and Indigo and a son, Tyee. She resides in Summerville, SC and enjoys a good book or movie and time by bodies of water. She looks forward to serving the Charleston community.
